SUNLONG Automobile Research Institute is the core R&D department of SUNLONG, with more than 280 professional core R&D personnel, covering automotive design, polymer materials, chemical engineering, electromechanical, art, software engineering, thermal engineering, etc. Mainly responsible for product planning, vehicle design, new energy vehicle controller, fuel cell system, electric drive system development, key parts test and verification, new product trial production and vehicle test.

SUNLONG Research Institute carries out the whole process of vehicle design and development, including product planning, conceptual design, general layout design, sub-assembly design, simulation analysis, process planning, prototype vehicle trial production, test verification, etc. in strict accordance with the R&D idea of integrating design and development and trial production test.

The Automotive Research Institute has a complete vehicle design center, an intelligent vehicle research and development center, an electric drive system research and development center, and a trial production test center. So far, it has developed more than 400 bus and truck products, covering public transport, tourism, passenger transport, commuting, school bus, urban distribution, regional freight, sanitation, special operations, etc., and has 213 technical invention patents. As early as 2006, the first fuel cell city bus in China was jointly developed with Shanghai Shenli Technology, laying a good foundation for the development of Shanghai SUNLONG new energy vehicles.

Drive motor

Axial flux motor+wheel drive
The electric drive system of the disc motor with high power-to-weight ratio based on axial magnetic flux technology, under the same power and torque output, the weight and volume of the electric drive system is only half of that of the traditional radial magnetic flux motor, which greatly facilitates the layout of the chassis and reduces the weight of the whole vehicle, and the power consumption is reduced by about 10% year on year. At the same time, the wheel-side drive system based on the disc motor can significantly reduce the unsprung mass of the driving system, improve the comfort and safety of the vehicle driving, greatly improve the flatness of the passenger car interior passage, and make all 8-12 meters city buses realize low floor planarization.

Vehicle controller

Based on dual-core 32-bit steam Vehicle level processor development

The vehicle controller meets high domestic requirements, and its hardware is developed based on a dual core 32-bit automotive class processor. The software architecture is designed and developed in accordance with the AUTOSAR specification requirements

Platform-based development

Considering the need for multi-energy management of subsequent vehicle models, the vehicle controller is developed in a platform-based manner (hardware, underlying software development, strategy software development, experiment and test, calibration and fault diagnosis have a high reuse rate)

Vehicle controller control strategy

Based on the environment development of Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, and following the MAAB V3.0 specification, the corresponding control model development is carried out to realize the energy management optimization, fault diagnosis and processing functions of the whole vehicle

Standardized development

The controller hardware development is carried out according to the ISO2 6262 management process. The functional reliability of the product hardware meets the ASILC level in the ISO26262 national standard (hourly failure rate 10-7). The selection of key components meets the AEC-Q101 or AEC-Q200 standards

Simulation capability
